R.B.J. - Burgers

EQUIPMENT

  • Grill (gas, charcoal, or a grill pan)

  • Mixing bowl

  • Spatula

  • Grill brush

  • Meat thermometer

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb 80/20 ground beef

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • 2 tablespoons Ranch & Rifle R.B.J. seasoning (ranch, bacon, and jalapeno blend)

  • 4 burger buns

  • Optional toppings: cheese slices, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preparation:

    • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  • Making the Burger Mix:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, panko breadcrumbs, and Ranch & Rifle R.B.J. seasoning.

    • Mix gently with your hands until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Avoid over-mixing to keep the burgers tender.

  • Forming the Patties:

    • Divide the burger mix into 4 equal portions.

    • Shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent them from puffing up during grilling.

  • Grilling the Burgers:

    • Clean and oil the grill grates with a grill brush and some oil to prevent sticking.

    • Place the patties on the preheated grill.

    • Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on the first side without moving them, to develop a good sear.

    • Flip the patties and grill for another 3-4 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature: 130-135°F for medium-rare, 150°F for medium, and 160°F for well done.

    • If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and close the grill lid to melt the cheese.

  • Toasting the Buns:

    • While the patties are cooking, place the burger buns cut-side down on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until they are lightly toasted.

  • Assembling the Burgers:

    • Remove the patties and buns from the grill.

    • Place each patty on the bottom half of a bun.

    • Add your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, peppers, and sauces.

  • Serving:

    • Serve the burgers immediately with your choice of sides like fries, salad, or coleslaw.

  • Tips:

    • Mixing: Be gentle when mixing the meat to avoid compacting it, which can result in tough burgers.

    • Temperature Control: Keep a close eye on the grill temperature to avoid overcooking or burning the burgers.

    • Resting: Let the burgers rest for a minute or two after grilling to allow the juices to redistribute.

  • Enjoy your flavorful homemade grilled burgers with the kick of Ranch & Rifle R.B.J. seasoning!
