These Blackened Blue Cheese Burgers are packed with bold flavors! The blackening seasoning adds a smoky, spicy crust, while the creamy blue cheese melts right into the juicy beef. Perfectly cooked on the Blackstone griddle, these burgers are a surefire way to impress.
Ingredients
1 ½ lbs ground beef (80/20 for best flavor and juiciness)
½ cup blue cheese crumbles
2 tbsp blackening seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
Burger buns
1 tbsp butter or oil (for greasing the griddle)
Toppings: lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, etc.
Blackening Seasoning (if you’re making your own)
1 tbsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp cayenne pepper (or to taste)
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
½ tsp thyme
½ tsp oregano
Instructions
Preheat the Griddle: Preheat the Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat for about 5-10 minutes. Add a little butter or oil to grease the griddle once it’s hot.
Prepare the Patties: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Gently press about a tablespoon of blue cheese crumbles into the center of each patty, folding the meat slightly over the cheese so it stays within the patty.
Season the Patties: Sprinkle both sides of each patty generously with blackening seasoning, pressing gently to ensure the spices adhere.
Cook the Burgers: Place the patties on the hot griddle. Let them cook undisturbed for about 3-4 minutes, allowing the blackening seasoning to create a delicious crust. Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.
Toast the Buns: During the last minute of cooking, place the buns cut-side down on the griddle to toast them until they’re golden and slightly crispy.
Assemble the Burgers: Place each blackened patty on a toasted bun. Top with extra blue cheese crumbles if you’d like, along with your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, and red onion.
Serve and Enjoy: Serve these bold, smoky, and creamy burgers hot off the griddle!
Tips
For extra melted cheese: Add more blue cheese on top of the patties during the last minute of cooking, covering with a lid if you want the cheese to melt faster.
Adjust the heat: Control the spiciness by adjusting the cayenne in your blackening seasoning to suit your taste.
These Blackened Blue Cheese Burgers bring big flavor with a perfect crust and creamy center – a standout recipe for any burger lover!
